My oven mitts are burnt and grungy. I've tried washing them but burn doesn't wash out. The blue fabric is from an apron I bought with the intent of making something cool out of the fabric. I've got a bit too much of that sort of thing.
Finally, I used my old mitts as a pattern to make some new mitts. It took me a few tries to get the thumb deep enough. I should have traced the old mitt inside out but I didn't. Still works.
I still have my old mitts because I am slow to change, and they were a wedding gift from my mum, and I my fingers still get kinda hot using the new ones because the padding's not thick enough....but at least I'm when I'm in a purging mood I'll have the replacement ready!
