escargot

Snails don't count as meat right?


At least not for Jon's 30th birthday celebration. Not when the Italian supermarket has these little delicacies tucked so nicely on the shelves in between the pickled artichoke hearts (as if that doesn't sound dramatic), dried tomatoes and capers....

I tried one fresh from the can. A little too slimy for me, I didn't think I'd get them down anyone. So I chopped them up, added mayo, lots of garlic, some diced sundried tomatoes, a little bit of cheese on top a few spices (I think) fried in a pan, heated in some tartlets and voila! Gourmet a la East Side.
