White Bloomers

This underwear has a bit longer legs than those I typically make.
I actually wanted them to be a bit looser, more "bloomer-like", hence the white lace elastic that was meant to keep the waste up, but they ended up fitting quite snug.

Each lace is different in its elasticity and thus the amount needed around.

A red bow on these could make these more Valentines and less Snowflake.

It's not too early... Something hot for the holidays

This is really just another take on the Lacey Somethings.
This time I found bra elastic and added that to both the top and bottom of the lace tube to keep it up. I also made the bottoms longer, they have little leggies, making them a bit more bloomeresque.  Photos show the bloomers pre-made. I'll add another post on how they were made, although I did describe how to make them on my previous post as well.

Something hot for the holidays!

wedding veil

i feel like letting the pictures tell the story
an old record to set the mood
two little rows of basting, gathered and secured with a top stitch
hand sown onto a hair comb (finding it was the hardest part, my neighbour kindly dropped one off last minute)
glass beeds individually sewn on, single strand of thread- i did this on the greyhound from vancouver
to abbotsford, seated beside an older woman- we talked about our weddings, what we wore, how many people and such, also about working in hospitals and letting go of work for kids...
i planned to trim this veil down but it fit perfect with my sister's long flowing dress
a row of ribbon roses lined the comb
i don't think i have a good final picture that quite captures it all
fit for a princess
